I have been through more digital cameras than I have Atvs. As everyone knows the environment we ride is very harsh on electronic equipment. For the last two years I have been using the Pentax Optio W and it has never let me down. If you ride harsh and un-forgiven terrain the Optio W is for you. This is the only camera Jacobs Atv Magazine uses when we ride in harsh terrain. Be sure to visit Pentax, and purchase their Optio W. Tell them you saw their product real world tested in Jacobs Atv Magazine.
I have been through 3 of these of cameras the Power Shot A80, before I found the Pentax. What kills this camera is the dust getting into the lens and not being able to open or shut. So, its not waterproof or dustproof, run from these type of cameras for Atving.
One of the #1 questions people ask is what camera do you use for all your photos and videos, well this is the camera. Now, Pentax is constantly updating this camera, and I have the previous model, but this is the current version. Its called the Optio W 30, it is 7 megapixles, 3x zoom, it has video capability, and can take pics or videos up to 10 feet below the water. Its shock proof, water proof, and dust proof. This by far the most durable and reliable camera you can buy for the outdoors.
