Roger's After Action Tire Report Back To Main

I recently purchased a set of Pit Bull Rocker ATV tires for my '06 700 King Quad. I am not one to rave about a product but these tires blew me away. If someone had told me about their first hand experience with them I wouldn't have worried so much about buying them, so here's my experience's so far. My first impression of these tires was a good one. When I first looked at these tires before they where mounted I knew this was company that meant business not just a company throwing together a smaller version of there truck tire to sell more tires. The side walls of these tires are very thick especially near the rim were they flare out to protect the rim from rocks. I think it would be very difficult to pinch a hole in the side wall. I rode them in some serious rocks at pretty high speeds with 5psi in them and had no problems. The rubber compound is amazingly pliable, I could grab a lug and twist it almost a quarter turn in freezing temperatures. I wasn't sure how they would ware, I put about three hundred miles on them so far, and they are amazing. I've ridden them on a mixture of extremely rocky trails, gravel roads, asphalt roads, mud, solid rock, and rocky hill climbs, they show almost no signs of wear and I was rough on these things. I would stop on big rocks and try to spin them, the tread would conform to the rocks and climb right over them. I did things that would have shredded many tires but didn't even make a mark on these tires. The Rockers drastically improved the performance of my ATV. The traction on hills is unbelievable, many hills that would have required 4-wheel drive with my old tires were easily conquered in 2-wheel drive with virtually no wheel spin. A rider that was behind me on some of the hills had a new set of Big Horns, he said his tires spun a little on some of the hills but mine didn't. Going down hills these tires grip just as well. On very steep descents I was able to use the breaks and stop without sliding on different types of terrain, loose rock, solid rock, dirt, it didn't seem to matter. I've been trying to find the limit of these tires and I have been thoroughly impressed. I thought they might ride rough because they are 8ply but exactly the opposite is true. They ride much smoother than 4 and 6ply tires I've run in the past. They are also true radial tires (not all claimed ATV radials are true radials because there are no standards governing the rating of ATV tires) so even at 65mph on asphalt they are smooth as silk, no wobble or shimmy. Another amazing thing I noticed was when I came to a washout in the trail and had to go off camber to straddle or go around the washout these tires will hold the line I picked in places my previous tires would eventually slide into the washout. I drove through some pretty sloppy sections and these tires preformed as well or better than dedicated mud tires I've used in the past. At some creek crossings there were wet solid rock slabs, I was able to stop, accelerate, and turn on these slick rock slabs. I will be putting a set of Pit Bull Rockers on my wife's ATV and I would recommend them to anyone.

Roger now has well over 1,000 Miles on his Rockers, and is still very happy with them. Here are some pics of how they are wearing,. In our onpinon they are wearing as good as the Bighorns.
