We have been riding many years in the Broken Bow Area, and there are many, many areas to explore. All that exploring isn't much fun unless you have a place to stay at to wash up, cool air-condition cabins, heated cabins in the winter, and a comfortable cabin to sleep in. Just like Tree Top View Cabins, Silver Creek Cabins offers outstanding accomodations.
When we first started riding in this area we discovered Silver Creek Cabins first, and have always stayed there. As the map shows Silver Creek Cabins is conveniently located next to the mountains.
Doug offers two cabins that he has built by hand, and the workmanship is un-matched. The cabins are lined with cedar, so the smell is amazing. Each cabin is roughly the same size, and sleeps 6 people. There is one bedroom downstairs, two beds up stairs, and a pull out couch in the living room. Since Doug only has two cabins you definitely will not have the feeling of being overcrowded.
The inside of the cabins are cozy, and very nice. There is a full kichen, full bathroom, full linens, eating area, full heated, and air conditioned. There is a great front porch to sit and view the wildlife in the open field.
There is a sitting area, and fire pit behind the cabins. There are also several walking trails throughout the property. Atving, riding is not allowed behind the cabins, nor is parking any atvs behind the cabins. You are only allowed to ride from the cabins to the trails. However, Doug has added several trails to his property across the road that you may ride.
Doug has recently added several ponds that are full stocked with fish, so bring your fishing poles.
It must be noted you can ride from the cabins to the trails without packing up your quads. You can rest assure your stuff is safe and secure here.
Over the years I have mapped out several routes for visitors to ride. We have put those routes in GPS units that are available for visitors to use. Should you become lost or don't return Doug will go out and search for you regardless of the time.
Doug also has a small cabin near the Little River which is about 25 to 30 miles from his main cabins. We are in the process of mapping out an overnight trip to this smaller cabin, and then a route to medicine springs. This cabin does have electricity, but is fairly rustic. Its a great trip if you want to ruff it and spend overnight in the middle of the mountains.
Overall, Doug has something to offer for everyone, and you can feel safe and secure at Doug's. I have been staying here since 2002, and I highly recommend staying here.
